I am among those moms who just buy products that are important for the first 0-6 months. If you are not like me, then feel free to add more products that you think you need to your baby registry. This post is just for inspiration. You don’t have to buy every single item listed on this post. This post will give you so many ideas about what to put on your baby registry. Let’s get started with baby registry must-haves.

Baby Registry Must Haves

Why do you need a registry for your baby?

You need a baby registry so that you can list out all the products you need for your baby in one place and can buy them together instead of buying them separately. There are many shopping sites or companies that give you a chance to create your baby registry whenever you want and add as many items as you want to your baby registry. My personal favorite is the Amazon baby registry. They have categories listed from where You can add products to your baby registry and you will also get a 10% discount.

What do you actually need on your baby registry?

Everyone has their own choice on what they want to add to their baby registry. Some create their baby registry for 0-2 years and some for 0-6 months. I want to create my baby registry for 0-6 months. As my baby grows I can buy other products she needs in her daily life.

One off-topic, I am pregnant for the second time and I have found out that I am having a daughter. I am so happy.

So what I was saying is that I will share 11 baby registry must Haves which I think every mom needs and these are the products I have added to my own baby registry.

What should you not put on the baby registry?

There are certain items I think you don’t need to put on your baby registry. If you think you need those items you can also always add those to your baby registry. So what are those products that you don’t need:

  • Toys – Babies will not start playing during their first 6 months.
  • High chair – It will take more than 6 months for the baby to use the high chair. But you can use a high chair before 6 months if your baby is ready.
  • Bottle sterilizer – Normal regular pots work so well and perfectly.
  • Baby food processor – A regular food processor works best. Stick either one that’s small and easy to clean and skip the baby food processor.
  • Changing table. – Using a mobile Changing pad is so much easier and you can change your baby’s diaper anywhere you want.

What should first-time moms put on their baby registry?

First-time moms probably need to add more items to their baby registry than second or third-time moms. Second or third-time moms will have all the expensive items already bought because they had a baby before. But first-time moms have to spend more than second or third-time moms. These are the important things you need to add to your baby registry as a first-time mom:

Baby monitor if you are not co-sleeping

  • Crib
  • Diaper bag
  • Swaddle blanket
  • Burp cloths
  • Bib cloths
  • Clothes
  • Toys
  • Feeding materials

This is just the idea. There are many items or products that first-time moms need to put on their baby registry.

What should the second time moms put on their baby registry?

Second-time moms probably don’t need to buy that baby monitor again, or maybe a crib. Because second-time moms already have those from their first baby. Shoes they can reuse from their first baby. Also, they don’t need to buy strollers because they had from their first baby.

Just think about what you don’t need to buy again as a second-time mom, and save your time and money.

Should you put expensive items on your baby registry?

The answer is it depends. If you need a crib then yes you should put expensive items on your baby registry because cribs are very important for babies. If you are co-sleeping then you maybe don’t need a baby monitor. If you already have a stroller from your first baby then you don’t need another one.

It really depends on you. See whether you need to buy those expensive items or not.

What have I added to my simple baby registry?

So let’s talk about what I have added to my baby registry. It’s a simple baby registry. I will be a second-time mom, so I don’t have to buy all the items again that I bought for my first baby. My baby registry must-have looks like this :

  • Clothes
  • Diapers
  • Diaper rash cream
  • Body lotion
  • Bath wash
  • Bathtub, as I didn’t buy it for my first baby.
  • Feeding chair, also I didn’t buy it for my first baby

There are so many products I didn’t buy for my son and want to buy for my daughter which also I think a baby must need.

When should you start your baby registry?

As soon as you find out that you are pregnant. It will take time to create a baby registry because you have to try different baby registries. You also need time to choose the best baby products. If you want to wait till the second trimester, then you can do so.

It’s up to you when you want to start your baby registry..
