Successful Mom Bloggers Expert Guide: Automating Processes & Collaboration

Learn the secrets to success by automating processes and following collaboration tips used by successful mom bloggers.

You see lots of other moms running successful blogs. It looks so easy. Not to mention how popular they are, so why not give it a try?

But you can’t help but notice how overworked, overwhelmed and confused you find yourself. Not to mention, you’re probably not even getting paid yet.

What started out as a great idea has turned into a frustrating, time-consuming, and likely expensive little mom business. Not exactly what you had expected.

What if I told you that being a mom blogger didn’t have to be so difficult?

What if I told you that you don’t have to do it alone?

In this article, I am going to share with you the same tips, tricks, and secrets that all of the successful mom bloggers know and live by.

I’m going to share the best ways to automate processes and collaborate with other mom bloggers just like you. Go ahead and give them a try and see the results for yourself…

Tip 1: Never repeat yourself.

What? That’s what moms do, so it’s only natural that we carry that into our blogs. What I mean by this is, don’t answer the same questions over and over again.

Set up a frequently asked questions page on your blog. This will allow you more time to spend elsewhere; whether it’s working on money-making products or spending the evening with your family, uninterrupted.

Bonus Tip: Include a link to the frequently asked questions page in your welcome series emails so new subscribers know where it is.

This tip not only saves you time, but it saves you money as well. Imagine answering all of your potential customers questions and getting their purchase to them with an automated system. You can do this without ever having to engage in a back and forth q&a before they buy.

By automating those extra conversations, you’re reducing your time worked to make a sale.

Tip 2: Take advantage of your email marketing service.

Another great way to work less is to automate your emails. Instead of sending out your newsletters one at a time, try scheduling one day a month. Plan to write out all 4-8 emails at once and auto-send on specific dates over the next 30 days.

Chances are, you’re paying for an email marketing program, or will be soon. Take advantage of the features they offer much as you can. These programs are designed to help you automate processes; learn them, use them.

Not sure how to do this? YouTube has great tutorials on how to use your specific email marketing service provider. It’s also a great place to compare other providers and features. This allows you to make sure you’re getting the best features for yourself and your subscribers.

Hint: At the bottom of each newsletter, you can link your FAQ page for any new subscribers, as well as any articles you’re featuring for the month.

Knowing that you have time scheduled to write your newsletters, you’ll feel less rushed to come up with ideas. You won’t have to wonder what you’re going to say the night before you’re supposed to send a newsletter. Or even worse, you skip a newsletter altogether due to lack of time and planning.

Which leads us to our next pro tip…

Tip 3: Invest in an online task management system.

What is an online task management system? In short, it’s a program designed to help you set up your tasks, prioritize them, schedule your to-do list, and set deadlines and reminders. It’s the automation of tasks you need to be a successful mom blogger.

One great example is Trello, which offers a free version for basic use, and happens to be my personal favorite.

Mom bloggers are raving about programs like Trello to help run their business because it helps them keep everything in order for both home and business. It’s also great for collaboration with your growing team.

There are many options available when it comes to choosing the right task management system, so take some time to learn a bit about each one and make the best decision for your business needs. The good news is that almost all of them offer a free version, so try one or try a few until you find your favorite.

Another great free option is Asana. They too offer many of the same automation and collaboration features as Trello, however each program has its own USP (unique selling point) so be sure to weigh your options before deciding.

In the end, Trello was my top choice because I can do everything I need with the free version. If you’re just getting started, it can be a tough choice to decide where to spend your money, especially if your blog isn’t bringing in much income.

Aren’t sure where to begin? Check out tutorials on YouTube specifically designed for mom bloggers looking to save time and automate processes in their businesses. Trello users also love to share their free templates too, so be sure to browse them for inspiration.

Tip 4: Use pre-designed templates through Canva.

One thing all mom bloggers know and quite possibly dread, is creating fresh images. All. The. Time.

Just finished writing another great blog article? You’ll need some images for the article itself, Pinterest pin images, social media images, Facebook, Instagram. And of course, of course, they are all different sizes.

All of the successful mom bloggers out there are taking advantage of Canva for their media needs. Did you know that you can buy a Canva file with over 30 templates on Etsy for under $20?

Head over to Etsy and browse through the listings. Take the time to find one that really speaks to you. Once you find the best one, you can purchase and import it directly into you Canva account.

If you have a Canva Pro account (highly recommended), you can easily change the branding to your colors and fonts with one click.

Pro Tip: I bought one Canva file with over 75 different templates, changed the colors and font to my brand, and then made multiple copies in various sizes (pixels). Now when I need a Pinterest pin, or a blog header image, I just go in to that specific file, add my personal touch and save.

Looking for a more customized template file? Check out Fiverr, there are plenty of freelancers out there waiting to work with you to design exactly what you need.

Think of all the time it will save by having your template ready to go in the right color, font, and size. Time that can be spent elsewhere, creating valuable content, products, or collaboration with others.

With this, we begin to enter the collaboration techniques.

Tip 5:  Double or triple your email viewers in one month.

The money is in your email list. Ask the pros, they’ll all tell you the same thing. The money is in your email list. This is how you build intimate relationships with your potential customers.

So naturally, if you want to be a successful mom blogger, you need to actively work on growing your email list.

One great way to do this is through collaboration with other mom bloggers in your niche.

Head over to Pinterest and Google and start looking for similar bloggers in your niche, not direct competition, but just close enough that you share a target audience.

Check out what they offer, and how it can benefit your subscribers. Then compose an email invitation to collaborate with one another.

Offer to promote other mom bloggers in your emails for one month and in exchange they promote you in their emails for one month.

With the same amount of work it takes to write and schedule your monthly emails, you can potentially double or triple your views

Make sure that you’re offering something in your promotion that will entice viewers to become subscribers, like an awesome freebie or coupon.

NOTE: Keep in mind that you can collaborate with a few other bloggers at a time, but don’t go overboard. You don’t want to overwhelm your subscribers and give them a “spammy” vibe. Maintain your authenticity, and only collaborate with those who truly resonate with your business.

Tip 6: Guest blog frequently.

It’s hard to imagine writing great copy only to hand it over to another blogger to use on their website. But this is an amazingly effective way to build your audience, gain new subscribers, earn credibility and develop your trustworthiness to Google.

Having credibility online is vital to your success. By guest blogging regularly with other mom bloggers, you’ll start to build backlinks, which helps Google recognize your website as reliable and credible.

There are a few important things to remember when guest blogging.

Start by writing a great invitational email. Make it personal by including observations about their website and how your blog can benefit them and their readers. Avoid using buzz words or over-hyping yourself.

Write a great author bio to include in your guest posts. Most blogs have their own guide for this but if you’re not sure, aim for 50 words, write in the third person, and include 1-2 links.

Don’t repost the same guest article elsewhere. There are occasions where duplicate content can be used, but for now, just avoid it. The main reason being is that it confuses Google and can have a negative effect on your SEO.

Also, you’re trying to build relationships with other mom bloggers out there, don’t offer them duplicate content. Do the work and write unique copy for each guest post.

In sum: Becoming a successful mom blogger doesn’t have to be difficult when you apply the tips covered in this article.

Set aside some time to plan out your automation and collaboration efforts. It will pay off in the long run if you put in the work.
